general submission guidelines
All submissions are required to be original, previously unpublished works and must be submitted electronically. All submissions will be considered for our digital journal in conjunction with NorthWest Arkansas Community College, with print editions potentially forthcoming. Hive Avenue is focused on inclusion and diversity, therefore, it does not have a theme restriction for submissions.
A number of submissions are accepted free of charge each month that submissions are open. If submitting a translation, you must include the original language with the submission. All translations must be in the public domain. Hive Avenue wants to represent writers from all around – there is no geographical requirement.
Simultaneous submissions are welcome (and recommended). Please do let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. Multiple submissions within a single genre are not permitted, however, we do accept multiple submissions in a separate genre.
Physical submissions will not be accepted. We’re not even going to tell you where to send them.
Submissions will not be accepted from current members of the Hive Avenue staff. Hive Avenue staff members must be at least twelve months removed from their position to be considered for submission.
All submissions will be kept confidential and will not be shared outside of the Hive Avenue staff.
