general submission guidelines

All submissions are required to be original, previously unpublished works and must be submitted electronically. All submissions will be considered for our digital journal in conjunction with NorthWest Arkansas Community College, with print editions potentially forthcoming. For our Fall 2024 issue, Hive Avenue will be working within the theme of Unity/Connection/Belonging.

A number of submissions are accepted free of charge each month that submissions are open. Hive Avenue wants to represent writers from all around – there is no geographical requirement. The only requirement is that you are an undergraduate student.

Simultaneous submissions are welcome (and recommended). Please do let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. Multiple submissions within a single genre are not permitted, however, we do accept multiple submissions in a separate genre.

Physical submissions will not be accepted. We’re not even going to tell you where to send them.

Submissions will not be accepted from current members of the Hive Avenue staff. If you are staff, please check out our page for Nucleus: A Journal for NWACC students!

All submissions will be kept confidential and will not be shared outside of the Hive Avenue staff.
